Fracture
Description
Thick, heavily textured blocks of color collide across this canvas — a sharp red gash cuts in from the upper left, amber and gold pool through the center like molten metal, and deep charcoal and black anchor the lower half in shadow. Fine drips and scratches run vertically through the composition, reinforcing the sense of a city seen through rain-streaked glass or caught mid-collapse. The heavy impasto surface catches real light and shadow, giving the piece a rugged, almost architectural presence on the wall. As the most intense and textural entry in the Urban Ember collection, it captures the raw, fractured energy the series is named for.
